Class 2: Eliminate Workplace Drama & Negativity | HR Changes Taking Effect in December

Workplace drama makes for a very tense environment.  This might be funny when it’s on a sitcom, but not when it’s happening in your business.  It’s more critical than ever for business owners to address this challenge.  Ignoring it only multiplies it and slowly erodes your company from the inside out.  The cost?  Underperformance, low productivity, losing great team members, profits, and more. So, how do you align your team members, initiate positive change, and create accountability amongst your team?

JOIN US as we go through action steps to transform your workplace into an environment of consistent productivity and positivity – leaving the drama for the sitcoms.

Class 4: Business in Public Policy and Politics | Communications Breakthrough

Hubert Humphrey once said “Government will either to things to you or for you, but its gonna do something.”  Minnesota’s business community knows this all too well, our federal, state and local governments are generally doing something “to you.”  We’ll examine how our government makes decisions and how you can become an effective advocate for your business and Minnesota’s business climate.

Second Session 9 am to 10 am
Communications Breakthrough
Adam Thompson
Focal Point

In any professional or personal relationship, effective communication is key to success, and effective communication starts, and ends, with non-verbal communication. In Communications Breakthrough, we will study the four main behavioral and communications styles that exist, and how to identify them in individuals based on visual cues, the environment around you, and other non-verbal clues. You will learn how people who fall into the various styles communicate, and how they prefer to be communicated to. Knowing your style and recognizing the styles of those around you is key to improving your leadership, management and sales skills; Communications Breakthrough will help you develop that skill.

However, if we understand and expand our Emotional Intelligence capabilities, we will be able to overcome the negative thoughts and feelings, and learn to act in a way that reflects our values, rather than what we are feeling at the moment.
